Chery Shows 15 Global Debuts at Beijing 2026 Across Five Brands

Chery Group arrived at Auto China 2026 with its full five-brand lineup and 15 global debut models. The event drew over 4,000 guests from more than 100 countries, a record for the company in both reach and scale. Brands on display were CHERY, EXEED, iCAUR, OMODA and JAECOO, and LEPAS, each targeting a distinct buyer segment.

Debut models included the Tiggo V, ES GT, EX8, OMODA 4, the V27 in right-hand-drive configuration, and the L6 in battery-electric form. The spread covers family SUVs, premium EVs, and youth-oriented models positioned for export to Europe and the Middle East.

Chassis and Powertrain Technology

Chery's most detailed technical disclosures centred on platform architecture. The Feiyu Digital Intelligent Chassis i integrates steer-by-wire and brake-by-wire, with claimed performance at 90 km/h on a moose test and a zero-radius turning capability described as a tank turn. The GAIA All-Domain System combines amphibious mobility with satellite communication for off-road and connectivity use cases.

A full-domain 48V system across the lineup targets a 15% improvement in energy efficiency and carries an ASIL D safety certification, the highest level in the ISO 26262 functional safety standard.

On the powertrain side, the KunPeng petrol engine reaches 48.57% thermal efficiency and achieves 4.0 kWh of conversion per litre of fuel. The DHT360 hybrid system produces up to 360 kW with full-speed electric driving capability. Chery's Rhino Battery charges to 80% in 12 minutes and is described as meeting a high safety threshold for thermal stability.

The Export Context

Chery's press materials frame the Beijing showing as part of a shift from scale expansion to precision positioning. The multi-brand structure allows the group to address different price points and body styles simultaneously without internal competition. OMODA and JAECOO have already established footholds in several export markets; LEPAS is the newest addition, positioned to fill a gap in the compact EV segment.

Whether 15 debuts across five brands translates to product coherence for buyers outside China is a harder question. The Chery group has the manufacturing scale and now, visibly, the technology portfolio. The next step is deciding which platforms and nameplate combinations have enough market clarity to compete individually against established Chinese EV brands in Europe and against Korean and Japanese brands in Southeast Asia.

No global pricing has been announced for the Beijing debut models. European availability timelines for OMODA and JAECOO continue on their existing schedule.
