Cupra has facelifted the Born with sharper looks, physical buttons on the steering wheel, and a VZ hot hatch variant producing 322 hp. The most important change might be the smallest: haptic steering wheel controls are gone, replaced by actual buttons you can press without looking.

The exterior gets a shark-like front nose, triangular Matrix LED headlights matching the Tavascan and Formentor family face, and an illuminated Cupra logo integrated into a full-width rear light bar. New 19 and 20-inch wheel options wear wider 235 mm tires for improved grip.

Three Powertrains

The Born Plus packs a 58 kWh battery and 187 hp (140 kW), down from 201 hp in the pre-facelift model. Range climbs to 280 miles (450 km), up from 264 miles. Less power, more range: the efficiency gains from the revised drivetrain outweigh the output reduction.

The Endurance variant carries a 79 kWh battery with 228 hp (170 kW) and 372 miles (600 km) of range, up from 366 miles. Charging capability reaches 185 kW.

The VZ tops the range at 322 hp (240 kW) with the same 79 kWh battery and 372-mile range. One-pedal driving is available across all variants.

Inside

The digital gauge cluster grows from 5.3 to 10.25 inches. A 12.9-inch touchscreen running Android OS handles infotainment. Redesigned door panels use softer materials, and recycled marine plastic textiles appear throughout the cabin. New rear air vents address a previous omission.

European dealers expect the facelifted Born in summer 2026.
