XPeng rolled the 100,000th P7+ off the production line on January 9, 2026, fourteen months after the model's November 2024 launch. The milestone coincides with the 2026 model year update, which adds EREV (extended-range electric vehicle) variants alongside the existing pure-electric options. Starting price remains 186,800 yuan ($26,760) across both BEV and EREV powertrains.
The BEV lineup offers two variants: the 615 Max at 186,800 yuan and the 725 Max at 198,800 yuan (the numbers correspond to CLTC range in kilometers). The EREV variants match those prices exactly, giving buyers a range-extender option at no premium. That pricing strategy is aggressive: most competitors charge 10-15% more for EREV over BEV versions of the same model.
100,000 in Context
Through November 2025, the P7+ accumulated 88,128 cumulative deliveries, contributing 70,621 units in the January-November 2025 period alone. That's 18% of XPeng's total company sales. The P7+ is XPeng's volume anchor while the G6 and G9 SUVs serve different segments.
The 2026 update is being launched across 36 countries and regions simultaneously, marking the P7+'s most aggressive international push. XPeng has been expanding its global footprint rapidly, with recent launches in Mexico, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.
Why EREV Matters for XPeng
Adding a range extender to the P7+ addresses the single biggest objection Chinese buyers still raise against pure EVs: highway range in a country where charging infrastructure outside tier-1 cities remains inconsistent. The EREV versions extend total range beyond 1,000 km while keeping the electric driving experience for daily commutes.
XPeng isn't the first to make this move. Li Auto built its entire brand on EREV technology. BYD offers DM-i hybrids across most of its lineup. The P7+ EREV at the same price as the BEV version is XPeng's way of saying: we're not going to charge you more for removing range anxiety.
