Toyota Reproduces Mk4 Supra Dashboard Through GR Heritage Parts

GR Heritage Parts program tackles the A80 Supra's most common interior failure. Modern materials, original grain pattern, autumn 2026 release in Japan.

Toyota Reproduces Mk4 Supra Dashboard Through GR Heritage Parts

Toyota will begin reproducing the instrument panel for the A80 Supra (Mk4) through its GR Heritage Parts program. The part covers the upper dashboard from above the steering wheel across to the passenger side, and it's one of the most common failure points on surviving cars.

Anyone who's spent time with a 1990s Japanese sports car knows the problem. Heat and UV exposure cause dashboard plastics to crack, warp, and shrink over time. The Mk4 Supra is especially prone to this, and original replacement panels haven't been available through Toyota for years. Aftermarket solutions exist, but fit and finish vary wildly.

Toyota says the reproduced panel uses the original design and grain pattern but swaps in modern materials for improved durability. The goal is factory-correct appearance with better longevity than the 1993 original delivered when it was new.

🔧 From Mechanical to Cosmetic Heritage

Until now, the GR Heritage Parts program focused primarily on mechanical components: gaskets, seals, drivetrain parts, and structural pieces needed to keep older Toyotas running and safe. The dashboard panel marks a shift toward cosmetic and interior preservation. Toyota says demand for interior parts has been increasing, particularly from collectors maintaining cars in near-original condition.

The program now covers several hundred parts across the AE86 Corolla, earlier Supra generations, and the A80. Some components use modern manufacturing techniques while preserving original dimensions and appearance.

The new instrument panel will debut at the Automobile Council 2026 event, with availability planned for autumn 2026. Distribution will be through GR Garage locations, Toyota dealers, and approved parts outlets in Japan. Installation services are expected to be available at participating locations.

There's no word on international availability, which is the obvious gap. The Mk4 Supra has a massive global collector community, with clean examples regularly trading above $100,000. The dashboard is among the first things buyers inspect, and a cracked panel can knock thousands off a car's value. North American and European distribution would find immediate demand, but Toyota hasn't committed to anything beyond Japan for now.
