BYD's ride-hailing sub-brand Linghui will equip its e7 sedan with flash-charging technology, enabling a near-full charge in 9 minutes. Display vehicles have arrived in 127 Chinese cities.
The Linghui e7 is built on the Sealion 06 EV platform and measures 4,780 mm long, 1,900 mm wide, and 1,515 mm tall on a 2,820 mm wheelbase. Two range options: 450 km and 550 km. Motor power options: 100 kW and 130 kW. A wide-temperature-range heat pump air conditioning system handles cold-weather operation.
Why Linghui Exists
BYD created Linghui specifically to serve ride-hailing and corporate fleet customers without diluting the main brand's image. When taxi fleets wear a brand badge 16 hours a day, the association sticks. Linghui absorbs that use case so BYD proper doesn't have to.
The sub-brand has multiple models: the e9 (based on the Han sedan, 4,995 mm), the e5 (based on Qin Plus EV, 4,805 mm), and the M9 (based on the Xia MPV, 5,200 mm). Each targets a different fleet segment.
Flash-Charging for Fleets
The 9-minute charging claim is particularly relevant for ride-hailing. Every minute spent charging is revenue lost. At BYD's 1,500 kW flash-charging stations, a driver can recharge between fares in less time than a bathroom break. The second-generation Blade Battery and 1000V architecture enable the speed, and BYD's proprietary charging network ensures compatibility.
The March 5 launch of BYD's second-generation Blade Battery with flash-charging capability is now cascading across the entire product portfolio, from the flagship Great Tang down to fleet vehicles.
