2026 Kia Seltos Redesigned: Bigger, Hybrid Option, Dual 12.3-Inch Screens

Second-gen Seltos grows 45 mm longer with 60 mm more wheelbase, adds first-ever hybrid variant, and gains dual 12.3-inch displays.

2026 Kia Seltos Redesigned: Bigger, Hybrid Option, Dual 12.3-Inch Screens

Kia redesigned the Seltos from the ground up, and the numbers show it. The 2026 model stretches 45 mm longer to 4,430 mm, grows 30 mm wider to 1,830 mm, and gains 60 mm of wheelbase at 2,690 mm. Trunk capacity jumps 103 liters to 536 liters. For a subcompact crossover, those are significant dimensional gains that push the Seltos closer to Sportage territory without actually overlapping it.

Three powertrain options cover the range. A 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder makes 147 hp. A 1.6-liter turbo produces 178 hp or 190 hp depending on the market. And for the first time, a hybrid variant joins the lineup, bringing V2L (vehicle-to-load) capability and regenerative braking. Hybrid specs haven't been disclosed yet. Transmission choices include a six-speed manual, seven-speed DCT, and eight-speed torque converter automatic.

⚡ Interior Gets a Full Reset

Inside, dual 12.3-inch displays replace the previous generation's smaller screens. Kia kept a dedicated climate control panel with physical buttons, which is worth mentioning because most competitors have abandoned them. Over-the-air updates, an AI assistant, optional panoramic sunroof, head-up display, and 64-color ambient lighting round out the tech package. Audio options include Harman Kardon and Bose systems.

The cabin sits on the upgraded K3 platform, shared with the Niro, K4, Hyundai Kona, and Elantra. Kia claims improved structural rigidity, better noise insulation, and refined chassis balance.

Two Personalities

GT-Line and X-Line trims split the styling direction. GT-Line goes sport with body-colored accents. X-Line goes rugged with dark gunmetal trim. New colors include Iceberg Green, Gravity Gray, and Matte Magma Red. AWD is available with a multi-link rear suspension setup.

Production starts before year-end 2025, with India launching first. Korea, North America, Europe, and China follow through 2026, with the US receiving it as a 2027 model year. Pricing remains undisclosed. The current Seltos starts at about $24,500 in the US, and the second generation will likely ask for more given the dimensional and equipment upgrades.
