A brief history about fisker:
Fisker Automotive was born from the vision of Henrik Fisker, a designer known for creating some of the most elegant and powerful cars of the modern era. After making his mark at Aston Martin, where he designed the iconic DB9 and V8 Vantage, and contributing to BMW’s Z8, Fisker set out to merge art, technology, and sustainability into a single brand. Founded in 2007, Fisker Automotive was created in partnership with Quantum Technologies, which specialized in hybrid and electric powertrains. The union gave rise to a bold new concept: a luxury electric vehicle that combined timeless beauty with cutting-edge green engineering.
The company’s debut model, the Fisker Karma, was unveiled at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show, just months after the company’s founding. The Karma stunned audiences with its sleek, futuristic design, low stance, and luxury aesthetic. It became one of the first plug-in hybrid luxury sedans in history, using an extended-range electric system that allowed it to operate purely on battery power for short trips or switch to gasoline for longer drives. However, despite its innovation, the Karma’s production faced significant delays and technical challenges. The company’s assets were later acquired by China’s Wanxiang Group, which rebranded the original car as the Karma Revero, while Henrik Fisker himself went on to found a new venture: Fisker Inc., in 2016.
Today, Fisker Inc. continues the legacy of innovation under Henrik’s leadership, focusing exclusively on fully electric vehicles. The company’s flagship model, the Fisker Ocean, launched in 2023, represents a major leap forward in sustainable design. The Ocean features a solar roof, a vegan interior made from recycled materials, and an impressive driving range of up to 360 miles. It has received multiple awards, including recognition for Sustainability and Design Excellence at major auto shows across Europe and North America. The Ocean has positioned Fisker as a serious player in the global EV market, directly competing with brands like Tesla, Polestar, and Rivian.
